Fizzy weekend in 2005

Get ready to tap that keg of beer and go glug glug glug… Bangalore is set to join a host of big cities around the world by hosting its own version of Munich’s famous Oktoberfest, the festival that celebrates beer. Starting tomorrow, the three-day Great Indian Octoberfest at Freeway 19, Palace Grounds, is the place to be for all guzzlers.

Octoberfest 2006: Live performance by ThemClones
Very rarely you will get a chance to photograph a rock band performing at Palace Grounds, and that too so close to the stage. This time I was lucky as there wasnt much crowd for the Octoberfest due to Rain. Themclones performed on Sunday, and as per me, they are good. The sound quality and lighting was awesome.

Octoberfest 2005

EVEN THE rain god could not stop it for long. After being postponed, Octoberfest 2005 will finally kick-off at the Palace Grounds on Friday. A review party has just been held to launch the carnival logo, which understandably features a barrel with a “kingfisher” on it.

Oktoberfest 2003: Oktoberfest at Taj
From Times of India, dated 27 Oct, 2003:
Oktoberfest is being celebrated for the third year in collaboration with the Indo German society onĀ the 25th of October 2003 at the Trinity & Vijayanagar hall from 7:00 p.m. onwards.
The highlight of the festival is a 14 member Bavarian brass band, which is being flown in especially for the festival by Taj Residency. The trinity hall will sport a blue and white theme, table and benches as in the traditional Oktoberfest.
Apart from Taj Residency the partners in organizing the festival are Kingfisher and Lufthansa.
